MOTs
Scott Vehicle Services Ltd is fully approved by VOSA (Vehicle Operator Services Agency) and all of our tests are conducted to their demanding standards by fully VOSA qualified technicians. We currently have eight testers working at our garage, so getting your MOT completed quickly shouldn't be a problem at all.
If your vehicle is over three years old, you are required by law to undertake an MOT test. The main purpose of this test is to ensure your vehicle meets the minimum road worthiness, environmental and safety standards set out by the Government.
It is your responsibility to get your vehicle MOT tested every 12 months as without a current MOT certificate you are legally unable to drive your vehicle or renew your road fund licence. The recent computerisation of the MOT testing system undertake by VOSA means that police and mobile camera units can now check remotely to see if your vehicle has a current MOT.
During one of our MOT tests, your nominate tester will conduct a thorough range of checks around the vehicle. The result of each of these checks is recorded and if the vehicle passes checks, a VT20 pass certificate is issues. If not, a VT30 failure document is issued instead.
